International book club: celebrating female authors

After a very successful first edition, Leuven Leest and the International House join forces to host the second session of the book club dedicated to books by female authors. We will get together on Wednesday the 21st of August in the evening to celebrate the contributions of women to literature, writing, and research.

The featured book of the evening will be Invisible Women: Exposing Data Bias in a World Designed for Men by British feminist author Caroline Criado Perez. The book highlights the adverse effect big data collection, which is typically focused on men, has on women. Since its publication in 2019, it has won multiple awards and received critical acclaim.

During the discussion, we will try and answer the following questions:

- What resonated with me?

- What did I learn?

- What can I apply?

To get the conversation flowing, there will be free drinks, curtesy of the International House. To further stimulate literary exchange, we will also hold a book swap: bring a book, take a different book home!

Don’t miss this chance to indulge in a great book, stimulating conversation and the most welcoming atmosphere of the International House.
